		<description>For the OS, perhaps, but I am talking about the free software.  The learning curve for Open Office vs Microsoft Office is pretty much nil.  Inkscape can be learned in about ten minutes, vs Adobe Illustrator which takes hours (granted, inkscape is a simpler program altogether).

Gimp?  Just as easy to learn as Photoshop, especially if you already know Photoshop.

Operating systems are tough to learn no matter what - this includes windows.  Just look at your parents.  Try explaining to Mom how to use windows.  I tried and failed miserably.</description>
